Katie adds to her tally of HOYS tickets

August 10th 2017

It was the turn of Kate’s husband Chris to add to the HOYS tally when he rode Gortglas Rinarinca to win the LW hunters and book their HOYS ticket at the Festival of Hunting at the East of England Showground recently. At Mid Herts Singing Hinnie won her novice riding horse class, Made In Ireland and Sarah White won the small riding horses and took reserve champion. The team then headed north to Rydale where Chris and 'Ringo' chalked up another win in the LWs and went on to stand champion. Then About Town won his MW class to take the ticket to join his stable mates at HOYS. 

The Billy young horses picked up great results at Hartpury

August 10th 2017

Billy horses shone at Hartbury with some great results during the show. Billy Rhodes & Billy Rembrandt finished 1st and 2nd respectively in the 6yr GP Qualifier on the Saturday.
The Billy 6yr Olds then had a clean sweep in the Grand Prix with Billy Du Montois 1st, Billy Rembrandt 2nd, Billy Kodak 3rd, Billy Tudor 4th, and Billy Rhodes 5th!
Billy Cool won the 1.40m on Friday & Saturday, but had to settle for 2nd on Sunday as she was beaten by Billy McCain.

A right Royal Norfolk Show for Katie!

Katie Jerram Hunnable continued her winning streak at the Royal Norfolk show, adding three wins and two HOYS tickets to the team’s 2017 tally. Katie rode Ruth Flack’s Copy Cat to take the Cob Championship, and partnered HM The Queen’s heavy weight hunter Tower Bridge to the top of the line in his class and onto stand reserve hunter champion; both qualified for Horse of the Year Show. Meanwhile Katie’s husband Chris led the two year old Lancer to win his hunter class in hand and stand reserve champion. 

A confident performance from Billy The Biz in Luhmuhlen

Pippa competed in the CCI4* on Billy the Biz  in Luhmuhlen, Germany, in his first CCI4* event . Lying 20th after the dressage, she produced a clear round across country and the first clear round inside the time in the show jumping to move up to 10th place. A huge leap up the placings and a confident performance from Billy The Biz.

 

 

 

 

Katie Jerram Hunnable had a good few days at the Hickstead Derby Meeting

27th June 2017

Knightsbridge, ridden by Chris Hunnable and owned by Mrs L Stanford, won the Lightweight Cob class and collected his qualification for Horse of the Year Show. Katie rode EPA Sonny Hill, owned by Elizabeth Ahern, to win the Small Hunter class and take the HOYS ticket.  Katie also had success in the ROR Tattersalls National Hunt class, this time topping the line-up aboard Rebecca Lowes Singing Hinnie.

William selected for Nations Cup in Roeser

William Funnell has been selected for  the CSIO3* FEI Nations Cup in Roeser, Luxembourg, which will take place on the 29th of June to 2nd of July. William has been selected with Billy Fanta, a nine year old mare from the Billy Stud, who will make her international debut.  This will be the second Nations Cup appearance for William in a matter of weeks, he jumped a double clear round in Denmark on Billy Buckingham. 

Billy Stud horses in top form at South of England

Billy Stud horses had a great weekend at the South of England show where Billy Manjaro (Animo) and Alex Gill qualified for HOYS in the Grade C. Billy horses were well to the fore as out of 60 starters in the Grade C there were 5 Billy horses in the top 9!

William and Billy Buckingham jump a double clear in the Nations Cup

William Funnell has had a great week with the impressive up and coming nine-year-old Billy Buckingham (by Billy Congo out of Clover Hill). On 27th May the pair topped the 1.50m Derby of Eindhoven. There were no clear rounds from the 23 starters, but William and Billy Buckingham didn’t touch a pole, and with just two time faults the performance saw them win the class. They followed this up with a double clear in what was the first appearance in a Nations Cup competition for Billy Buckingham. 

 

 

Katie tops the line up at the Suffolk County Show

Katie Jerram Hunnable had a successful Suffolk County Show when HM The Queens Lancer topped his 2 yr. old class, took the Best Young Hunter special and the overall In Hand Hunter Championship. Katie was in top form in the ridden hunter classes, topping both the Lightweight RIHS qualifying class with Mr & Mrs Jerrams Gortlas Rinarinca and the middleweights with About Town, and was 2nd in the heavyweights with HM The Queens Tower Bridge.  About Town went on stand Ridden Hunter Champion.

Katie stands Supreme at Royal Windsor

Katie had a day to remember at Royal Windsor on the final day of the show when, riding HM The Queens Babours   Shop, she was pulled forward as Supreme Champion.  ‘The supreme was immediately after the retirement ceremony for Nick Skelton and Big Star, so the atmosphere was absolutely electric’ said Katie ‘ the judge told  me that Barbours Shop won on temperament and performance, he behaved impeccably.  He is such a noble horse and he loves his job’ But there is no time for celebrations at the yard as the team are already turning the lorry  around ready to head down the Devon County Show!

Katie Jerram Hunnable had a good day at Addington with the hunters recently. The  5 year old Imperial Choice won the novice class, Ballycreen His Lordship won the Light Weights and went on to take the championship whilst Clonaslee Master Diamond won the Heavyweights. 
On Sunday the team headed for Keysoe for the College Spring Show were the winning streak continued with Gortglas Rinarinca taking the Lightweights and going on to stand reserve champion hunter. In the the riding horse classes Helen Whitley John had a 2nd with Walk In the Park and Sarah White won the open smalls with Made In Ireland and took the riding horse championship. Brineton Red Beret was 2nd in the ridden coloureds taking his RIHS ticket. Success continued on with the cobs where Ruth Flack's Boherdurrow Fred won the novices and took reserve champion cob. Chris rode Knightsbridge to win the Lightweight class. 

Pippa Funnell has had a good start to the 2017 season

Pippa Funnell has chalked up some good results to start the year . Sandman 7, coming back from injury last year, scored a double clear at Isleworth in the Open Novice and then took second place in the Intermediate at Poplar Park in March. Pippa went one better on Billy the Biz at Poplar Park, winning the Advanced Intermediate by a large margin, he was having his first outing since Rio and is aiming for Lumuhlen. Sandman 7 continued his comeback with a win at The South of England Trials in the Advanced Intermediate.

This year it was one of the top native ponies that was voted the winner of the prestigious Virbac 3D Worming Show Pony Personality of the Year, the handsome Fell Stallion Townend Schubert, owned and ridden by Rebecca Penny. East Kent Hunt Wins the Virbac 3D Worming Pony Club Mounted Games Cup

7th October

After an exciting competition the East Kent Hunt lifted the Virbac 3D Worming Pony Club Mounted Games Cup. The cup was presented to the winners  by Equine Product Manager Davina Godwin who said 'the standard of competition was just amazing, very well done to all the teams who made it to the Horse of the Year Show'. Following the nights exctiment Davina then headed to the stable area to judge the much anticipated stable competition. All 6 teams stables were an absolute credit to the members of each team. Just 14 days to go to HOYS!

21st September

There is only 2 weeks to the start of Horse of the Year show and the Virbac 3D Worming Pony Club Mounted Games finals! The Horse of the Year Show takes place at Birmingham NEC from Wednesday 5th to Sunday 9th October and the Pony Club mounted Games take place on each day of the show; the Virbac 3D Worming cup is presented on Thursday 6th October. Good luck to all the teams competing in what is sure to be an exciting and close fought competition  

 

 

William and the Billy Stud Horses succesful in Europe

21st September

William has been competing succesfully in Europe over the last few weeks with homebred Billy Stud horses.  William won the CSI3* 1.55m Grand Prix in Humlikon in Switzerland on Billy Congo, he also finished 4th on Billy Cool, a son of Billy Congo, in the 1.40 two phase. Billy Congo then went on to be third in the next Grand Prix at the same show.

Not only has Katie qualified an amazing 14 horses for The Horse of the Year Show, but she has also found time to host a 2 day HOYS rehearsal clinic on 22nd and 23rd September at Brooke Farm. The clinic is designed to help and encourage those who are heading to HOYS for the first time or anyone who feels that they need that little bit of extra support to get the best out of their HOYS experience. Two Billy Stud horses head for Rio

Now that Pippa has been called onto the team for Rio, the new travelling reserve has been named as Tina Cook. Tina’s horse is Billy the Red, bred by the Billy Stud, who will join Billy the Biz for the journey to Rio.

Pippa Funnell will ride for  the Great Britain eventing team at the Rio now that Izzy Taylor’s horse Allercombe Ellie is out due to injury. Pippa and the Billy Stud’s home bred Billy The Biz by Cevin Z will  join the team. Pippa said ‘I feel privileged and honoured to be part of the team. We will give it our absolute all.’

Team GB has announced which riders will compete in the eventing team in Rio next month, and Pippa Funnell and Billy the Biz will be travelling reserves. The Billy Stud bred Billy the Biz has shown some good form recently, including a win in the Ballindensk CC13*

Katie adds to her HOYS tally

Katie and her team have been collecting Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) qualifiers at shows across the country. At Lincoln County About Town won his middle weight class and took the ticket; at Hickstead Copycat stood top of the HW Cobs and added another coveted HOYS ticket to the tally. At South of England Sam Burns rode Bronte to success and booked her HOYS trip with a win in the Riding Horse section whilst Katie piloted Classic Choice, this time in a novice class, to win the novice hunters. HM The Queens Tower Bridge booked his HOYS place in the HW class at the Royal Norfolk show.

A great win for Pippa

Pippa Funnell  made a great return to competition after a fall at Withington Manor a few weeks ago. Competing at Houghton Horse Trials she won the CCI2 * on the 7 year old Billy Walk On by Billy Mexico. Billy Walk On has now won  three of his five international starts

A Royal Windsor win for Barbers Shop

24th May 2016

Barbers Shop, owned HM The Queen and produced and ridden by Katie, competed in the retrained racehorse class at Royal Windsor Horse Show and was champion. ‘We always knew he was a special horse but for him to start rehearsals on the Monday and for a racehorse to stand like a rock with cheering and flares going off and all the hullabaloo with a big smile on his face and then compete as normal on the Thursday was just beyond all expectations!’ said Katie.

After a quick turnaround the team then headed for Devon County where the wins came thick and fast! Gortlas Rinarinca won his Hunter class, picked up his HOYS ticket and stood champion.  On his first time out for Ruth Flack, Small Hunter Mister Friendship won his class and added another HOYS ticket to the tally.

Chris won his class with Imperial Choice whilst Jo Jacks on Kings Court headed their class and took the third HOYS ticket of the day! Will took Woodfield Choice in the Light Weights where he was second and Reserve Champion.

Two great wins for Pippa at Ballindensk

Pippa Funnell enjoyed great success at Ballindensk in Ireland over the weekend. Riding the Billy Stud bred Billy the Biz Pippa won the CC13* whilst  Mirage D’Elle won the CIC3*. Needless to say Pippa is delighted with both horses!

At the recent South of England Show Temple Garden started a good run by winning the Novice Hack class ridden by Abi Thorogood; the home bred Assagart Queens Speech was second in the novice riding Horse and Katie rode Leanna Young's Knightsbridge to win his class and take the novice Championship! Another of Katie’s home bred horses, Assagart First Edition who is half sister to Queens Speech, was ridden by Angus Rowe to win the Novice Show Pony class. In the open Large Riding Horse, Bronte flew the flag again by winning with Sam Burns. 
Will Morton rode beautifully to win the LW Cobs. Day two saw Kings Court winning the LW Hunters, with Ballycreen His Lordship taking second place. In the novices the 4 year old Imperial Choice made his ridden debut and won the 4 year olds, and to top it all off Classic Choice won the novice LW class and took the novice championship!

Pippa Funell rode Second Supreme at Alden in the OI where the pair finished second. Pippa took another second place, this time with Billy Walk On in the Int; she was fifth with Sandman 7 in the AI, this horse was alo 3rd at Burnham Market in the CIC
Pippa's next scheduled outings are The South of England with Redesigned, who wil be going in the AI, Mirage D’Elle in the OI and MGH Grafton Street in the OI.  Next stop is Belton with 6 horses, including Sandman 7 and Billy Beware in the 3*

Katie starts the season in winning style

The PUK winter show saw a great start to the 2016 season for Katie. The Classic Choice started the day well by standing top of the novices. Ballycrean His Lordship won the light weight class and took the championship. In the Cob classes Major Look was champion and Copy Cat won the heavyweight section. In the RIHS class Ida Coni took a good reserve.

 

Pippa Funnell makes good start to the year

Pippa  made a good start to the new season at Isleham on the 6th of March. She has taken the ride on Piggy French’s Cooley Top Cat, finishing 4th and was also 2nd on Mayas Hope in the OI. Meanwhile Billy Cuckoo, Billy the Biz, Billy Beware and MGH Grafton Street had first runs at Poplar Park last weekend. Pippa next competes at Aldon on the 18th of March

William Funnell continues his run of success

William Funnell will be competing at The London International Horse Show at Olympia Horse Show. He is taking three horses Billy Congo, Billy Angelo and Billy Onslow. The show starts for the showjumpers on Wednesday the 16th and runs to the 21st of December.

Thistledown Las Vegas is the Virbac 3D Worming Show Pony Personality of the Year

The glittering ‘Oscar style’ Show Personality of the Year Awards witnessed the prestigious Virbac 3D Worming Show Pony Personality of the Year awarded to the prolific Show Hunter Pony Thistledown Las Vegas. Owned by Julie Shakespeare and ridden by Reise Shakespeare, Thistledown Las Vegas is produced by Julie Templeton and has been unbeaten in his class during 2015. The runner up award went to Rotherwood Rainmaker, the prolific Show Pony owned by Katy Carter and ridden by Poppy Carter.  A double Longines Royal International Horse Show Supreme Pony, Rotherwood Rainmaker has lifted many leading titles during his illustrious career.

 

 

 

 

Randlestown Musketeer is the Virbac 3D Worming Cob of the Year

19th October

Under the floodlights of the International Arena at The Horse of the Year Show it was the heavyweight 6 year old novice cob Randlestown Musketeer who took the pressure in his stride to stand Virbac 3D Worming Cob of the Year champion ahead of the lightweight winner, Oliver Hood and Chaplin.

‘Randlestown Muskateer is one of the sweetest horses I have ever had’ said a delighted Victoria ‘to come to HOYS and take this in his first year, well I am just over the moon!’ said his rider and producer Victoria Hesford. Find out more on the Virbac 3D Worming Cob of the Year

 

Monmouthshire Pony Club reigns victorious at The Horse of the Year Show

First time Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) qualifiers, the Monmouthshire Pony Club, reigned victorious in this year’s Virbac 3D Worming Pony Club Mounted Games Prince Phillip Cup.Monmouthshire Pony Club is based on the Wales/England border and currently has just 60 members. It is the first timethe team have qualified for HOYS but they did so in style, beating Wylye Valley Pony Club, who were finalists last year, on their way. Education and cake at Sellors Ltd Open Day

8th October 2015

Senior Territory Manager Davina Godwin attended an Open Day at Sellors Ltd on Saturday 4th September.   As well as supplying information on the correct worming approach, Davina also supplied a 3D Worming cake and gave away raffle tickets to win a Virbac 3D Worming branded fleece. Davina also raised money for the Air Ambulance with a competition to guess the number of jelly worms in a jar for a £1.00 donation.

 

The BSHA Nat Champs qualifiers head for HOYS

22nd September 2015

There were two ‘wild card’ Virbac 3D Worming Cob of the Year Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) qualifiers on offer at the British Show Horse Associations’ National Championship Show, held on 11th September at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre in Buckinghamshire.  First up were the lightweight cobs with the qualifier going to the second placed Skewbald gelding Randlestown Top Draw. The heavyweights saw the ticket go to another Randlestown cob, the 10 yr old Randlestown Causeway, ridden by Lucy Fisher and owned by Debbie Obbard.

 

Hannah Wild selected as the 2015 Virbac 3D Worming Equine SQP of the Year

Hannah Wild, from the online company Supplement Solutions, has been crowned the 2015 Virbac 3D Worming Equine SQP of the Year.  ‘All the candidates were of a high standard’, said Chris Taylor Virbac Technical Director ‘but Hannah demonstrated a full working practical knowledge of worming’

Katie Jerram with HM The Queens Barbers Shop stood Supreme Champion at the RoR National Championships at Aintree.

The Billy Studs Billy 5yr olds took 7 of the top 10 places in the British Bred 5yr old championship at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre. Billy Chatter won the British Bred 6yr old championship and Billy Du Montois, the Stallion By Cevin Z and owned by Denise Stamp, was equal first in the 4yr old British Bred championship ridden by Luke Barham

Sharon Hunt and Harriet won the 1.35 speed derby today at Hickstead All England Jumping Championships that took place during the 5th and 6th September.

 

 

A great five days at the Pony Club Championships

27th August 2015

Virbac attended the five day Pony Club Championships at Cholmondeley Castle, Cheshire from 21st to 25th August 2015 where the company sponsored the Novice, Intermediate, Open and Elite Show Jumping Events.

The Virbac stand was busy with visitors seeking advice on responsible worming and the 3D Worming approach to optimise parasite control.

As the competitions got underway it was a win for the Quorn Hunt Branch in the Virbac 3D Worming Novice Team Show Jumping

The Virbac 3D Worming Individual Novice top slot went to Sophie Moss (11) from the Old Surrey & Burstow with Miss Perfect Picture.

In the Virbac 3D Worming Intermediate Individual it was a win for Maddie Dudley (14) from the Woodland Hunt riding Maggie May.

The Virbac 3D Worming Intermediate Team competition was hotly contested, but it was Rockwood Harriers who resisted the pressure to take the win.

In the Virbac 3D Worming Open Individual competition, Sophie Toogood (21) from Flint and Denbigh Hunt jumped clear in the first two rounds before producing yet another immaculate clear in the jump off confirming her top slot in 41.63 (s) with Darco’s Wise Cracker.

Sophie also helped the Flint & Denbigh branch to victory in the Virbac 3D Worming Open Team competition.

In the Virbac 3D Worming Elite Show Jumping Melissa Rose, riding Asterix Z from the West Lancs County, rode two immaculate clear rounds to take the win.

Congratulations to the 100+ riders who entered the Virbac competition to guess the weight of the horses before learning how to correctly use a weigh tape to get an accurate measurement of how much wormer their pony or horse requires for a full and correct dose. An Educational afternoon on worming and feed with Sellors Ltd

Senior Territory Manager Davina Godwin from Virbac teamed up with Regional Sales Manager Danielle Gautrey from Dengie and Claire Sellors, owner of Sellors Ltd to provide Claire’s customers with an educational afternoon on feed and worming.
Hosted on 10th August at Brambles Liveries in Rolleston, the yard had been using a weigh tape on some of their horses. Knowing the accurate weight of your horse is a key factor to consider when worming and feeding, so with the Dengie weighbridge present Davina was able to check that the weigh tapes were being used correctly so giving an accurate weight of the horse for worming and explain about the 3D Worming approach. 

 

Billy McCain qualifies for The Horse of The Year Show

Denise Stamps 7yo Billy McCain (Cevin Z x Cruising) finished 2nd in the Foxhunter regional to qualify for Horse of the Year Show. The Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) is held at the Birmingham NEC from 7th to 11th October 2015.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sunshine and huge classes at the Longines Royal International Horse Show

3rd August 2015

Both Katie Jerram and Pippa Funnell competed in the International Arena at the Longines Royal International Horse Show that took place at the famous Hickstead showground last week. Having stood 2nd in the Middleweight Hunter class on Thursday with Mr & Mrs Jerram’s About Town, Katie contested the Hunter Championship in the International Arena. A good weekend for Pippa

20th July 2015

Pippa Funnell competed at Eridge Horse Trails this weekend with success.  Court Casper won his first BE100 in only his third outing; Mirage D’Elle was first and Billy The Biz fourth in the Open Intermediate whilst Billy Hopefully was 5th in the Five Year Olds competition.

Katie gains  HOYS tickets at Kent County Show

15th July 2015

The Friday started well for the team when Brontie gained her HOYS Ticket with Doyle, winning and going on to stand reserve champion. Assagart Queens Speach with David Marsden was inhand hack / riding horse champion. On Saturday Katie and her 2014 HOYS winner Gortlas Rinarinca won his class and was champion.  Sunday saw Katie back at the top of the line, this time with the Cobs, riding Leanna Youngs Coachman to win the maxi class and take his HOYS  ticket. Woodfield Choice also won and secured another ticket, standing reserve to Katie on Copycat who won and stood champion.

 

Sharon Hunt welcomes a new arrival

Sharon is delighted with her new arrival, a filly foal out of Maise by Landor S, who she hopes will eventually be a good jumper!

 

 

 

 

Katie Jerram on a roll with wins at North of England

Katie had a great day at the North of England Show over the weekend. She topped the line with the Small Riding Horse Sporting Dickens. Sam Coates Bronte picked up the reserve championship after standing 2nd in his class.

Billy Stud horses shine at Hickstead

6th July 2015

Three of the Billy Studs 5yr olds made it into the top 10 at the All England Jumping Course at Hickstead for the 5yr old championship, with Zak Beasley finishing 2nd on Billy Alabama. William Funnell now heads to Falsterbo in Sweden for the Nations Cup  Meeting and Derby; Billy Onslow goes in the Derby. Meanwhile Pippa competed in Strzegom in Poland at the end of June, finishing 4th with Mirage D’Elle in the CCI3* with double clear.
She goes to Barbury next weekend with Billy The Biz, Second Supreme and Mirage D’Elle in the CIC 3* and Majas Hope in the CIC2*

 

Success for Katie Jerram at the Royal Norfolk Show

3rd July 2015

Katie started the day with Woodfield Choice and then Copy Cat who both stood third in their res[pective cob classes. Made In Ireland took his championship with his owner Sarah White. On the second day Katie and Tower Bridge won the Heavy Weights and took the championship. Not to be outdone HM The Queen's  Barbers Shop took the Champion Ladies.
Katie finished the show with the in hand winner  Assagart Queens Speech , well run and handled by David Marsden, who took the championship of her section, was  pulled through to the final 4 of the Cuddy Supreme and finished the day supreme inhand champion.

Sharon Hunt enjoys the Hickstead Derby Show

Sharon Hunt had a great time at Hickstead. On day two Harriet was 4th in the main ring for the Grade C class. Sharon was delighted with how the horses jumped at the show.

At Chatsworth Horse trials Pippa Funnell won at CIC with both Sandman 7 owned with  her mother Jenny Nolan and Billy Walk On at Chatsworth Horse Trials this weekend. She next goes to Houghton on the 28th of May with Billy Cuckoo and Majas Hope in the CIC 2* and Mirage D’Elle and Billy the Biz in the CIC

William Funnell
William will compete in France again this weekend in Maubeuge a 3* show with Billy Angelo and with three young horses including Billy Swift and Billy Sparky.
He will return to the UK to compete at Windsor Horse Show in both the National and International classes from the 13th of May until the 17th
 
Pippa Funnell
Pippa competes at Withington this weekend with numerous horses including Sandman 7, Billy Landretti and Billy The Biz in the Advanced and Billy Walk On  in the intermediate. She then goes to Badminton with Redesigned and Second Supreme who was 6th at Belton. She will join William for the first two days of the Windsor Horse show to compete on the young Billy show jumpers before going onto to Chatsworth with Billy Landretti, Billy Walk On and Sandman 7.

14th April 2015

Billy Walk On won the Novice at both Tweseldown and Aldon, where Billy Landretti was also 2nd in the OI. Billy Landretti was 2nd at Poplar in the OI.

Pippa is entered at Belton on the 17th of this month with five horses, including Billy Landretti and Sandman 7 going in the CIC3* and Second Supreme in the Advanced. Both Second Supreme and Redesigned are entered for Badminton

Both William and Pippa competed at Hartbury last week with a string of young Billy Stud horses with some good results. William will be back out on the International show jumping circuit next week
